With its lush rainforests, coconut trees and awe-inspiring waterfalls, an RTI “Black Piranha” with “Ocean” diagnostic software has found the ideal ‘home’, with the company Medilab, in the tropical paradise of French Polynesia.

Medilab, based in the French Polynesian capital of Pape'ete, on the island of Tahiti, has been distributing medical and laboratory equipment in the South Pacific archipelago for more than 30 years.

“We work with different providers depending of ‘systems’, such as Siemens for Imaging and Planmeca for dental,” said Tekau Hoatua, Medilab Service Manager.

As part of their recent metrology equipment upgrade, Medilab opted for a ‘Piranha’ to test the output from their X-ray systems, for example their latest Digital Mammograph unit; a Siemens Mammomat Fusion.

Tekau explained, “We are very satisfied with the Piranha and Ocean software for several reasons:

    - Small and Compact which makes it easy to transport. Tablet fits perfectly in the little case.

    - Ergonomic; easy to use with Quick Check.

    - Wireless connection!

    - Acquisition of several values in one shot. All displayed on the same window.

    - Automatic report which can be stored in our laptop

    - Time saving

    - Upgradability according to our needs

    - Calibration Cycle of 2 years”

“We thank Medilab for sharing their experience and feedback with us and think they have pinpointed many of the advantages with the RTI solutions,” said Björn Cederquist, Managing Director at RTI Group in Singapore.
