RTI Mako achieves milestone accreditation for dosimetry
RTI Mako demonstrates its excellence in dosimetry, while continuing to expand the platform’s capabilities.

Mako is RTI’s next-generation platform for X-ray quality assurance, developed to be the leading X-ray test tool for QA measurements across radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, dental imaging, CT, and more.

Since its launch in 2024, the RTI Mako platform has evolved with new software features, updated lab accreditations, new cloud features, support for newly-launched X-ray systems, and the major launch of the Mako Display App last year.
RTI Group continues its investment in product development, launching the new Mako SDK (software development kit) in May 2026. The Mako SDK allows users to communicate directly with the system, using any third-party software to extract measurement data into any custom software solution.
The Mako SDK is particularly well suited for OEMs, manufacturing environments, automated test systems, end-of-line production testing, quality control, and organizations developing their own service or quality assurance software.
Major milestone for Mako’s dosimetry excellence
In addition to the platforms continued evolution, in July 2026, RTI Mako achieved one of the highest accreditation certificates possible for an X-ray dosimeter, with PTB approval.
PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) in Germany is one of the world’s leading reference laboratories for X-ray dosimetry, who verify an instrument’s performance against the requirements of the German Measurement and Verification Ordinance (MessEV), the German Measurement Act (MessEG), and relevant IEC standards, including IEC 61674 for diagnostic X-ray dosemeters.
As part of the certification process, Mako underwent comprehensive testing of measurement accuracy, energy dependence, dose rate dependence, temperature and humidity influence, long-term stability, repeatability, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and verification of the complete firmware and software chain.
Mako achieved certification across all 3 applied areas including R/F (radiography / fluoroscopy), Mammography and CT applications. This certification across the widest application range possible validates the RTI Mako system as the leading X-ray test tool available.
The Mako SDK expands software capability
The Mako SDK supports the complete Mako ecosystem, including all Mako probes, modules, and external probes. Users can customize their own software to communicate with Mako and utilize the wireless capability of the system, or alternatively connect via USB cable.
The Mako SDK comes with an example test application to simplify startup for new users, and full documentation to allow seamless data extraction (measurements & waveform data). The Mako SDK compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11, with the test application available in both C# and Python software language, to broaden the application to a wider range of software development solutions.
