Mako Base Unit with Mako Display

RTI, a global leader in quality assurance (QA) solutions for diagnostic radiology, today announced the launch of the Mako Display, an app-powered display that enables users to perform X-ray measurements instantly and completely wirelessly on their smartphones or tablets. The Mako Display introduces a new way for service engineers and medical physicists to view and manage X-ray test data, combining advanced measurement technology with the convenience and usability of modern mobile devices.

The Mako Display shows measurement results instantaneously, connected to the Mako meter wirelessly or via USB cable. Unlike older self-contained systems, the Mako platform separates the measurement hardware from the display, giving users greater flexibility and full wireless freedom. It is designed to be a future ready solution, removing the need for a laptop and making X-ray testing faster, simpler, and completely mobile.

As an app-powered display, it lets users choose their own modern smartphone or tablet as the interface, rather than being limited to a sometimes outdated built-in screen on a self-contained device. This approach gives users a more flexible, upgradable, and user-friendly experience.

The Android version of the Mako Display will launch on December 1, 2025, as a free download on Google Play, followed by an iOS release in 2026 to ensure full accessibility across platforms.

The feedback from our beta testers has been overwhelming,” said Michael Olding, Vice President Solutions at RTI Group. “They found Mako Display incredibly fast and intuitive, ready to measure within seconds, fully wireless, and offering a modern interface that users described as a real game changer. This launch reinforces RTI’s position as the market leader in innovation and user experience.

The Mako solution offers plug and play simplicity, fully wireless connection, and direct data export to Excel. It is not a replacement for RTI’s Ocean software, but a complementary tool for field users who want immediate results and ultimate flexibility.

The new Mako Display enhances RTI’s flagship Mako meter, already recognized for its groundbreaking technology, widest application range, and exceptional accuracy. Together, they deliver a complete and future ready quality assurance solution that defines the next generation X-ray testing.
