CT Calibration & Probes for Accurate Imaging

CT calibration & probes for accurate Imaging

RTI Group delivers innovative X-ray quality assurance (QA) solutions specifically designed for the dynamic field of computed tomography (CT). Our state-of-the-art QA kits and accessories empower you to enhance X-ray quality, maintain compliance, and streamline workflows across diverse CT systems, including conventional multi-detector CT (MDCT) and cone beam CT (CBCT).

While the industry allows a variance of +/- 20% in CTDI testing, we prioritize precision and accuracy.

Our solutions integrate effortlessly with Ocean Next, software offering user-friendly tools for routine checks, detailed analysis, and thorough documentation, ensuring a seamless QA experience.

Routine QA procedures in Computed Tomography (CT) with Mako

The Mako R/F Probe measures kV with a measuring range of 35-155kV, and market leading accuracy.
The RTI CT Ion Chamber, traceable to primary standards, measures CT Dose Index.
The patented RTI CT Dose Profiler also fits into the standard CTDI phantoms for measurement of CT Dose Index, Dose Length Product (DLP), and can also measure free-in-air for measurement of CT Beam Width (FWHM) and Geometric Efficiency.

CT Application Coverage

  • Typical measurements in CT include kV measurements for tube output (RTI Mako, RTI Piranha), CT Dose Index (CTDI) and Dose Length Product (DLP).
  • IEC standards such as IEC 61223-3-5 and IEC 60601-2-44 can be used as protocol references for CT dosimetry.
  • Weighted CT Dose Index (CTDIw) is calculated from 5 scans of a 100cm Ion Chamber (CTDI100) (RTI CT Ion Chamber) in a CTDI phantom.
  • Dose Length Product (DLP) is calculated from CTDI measurements.
  • Solid-state CT Probes (RTI CT Dose Profiler) can be used to measure CTDIw and DLP in a single scan, in addition to beam width and geometric efficiency, for streamlined testing.

CT Dose Index measurements

The RTI CT Ion Chamber is a gold standard for measuring the CT Dose Index of an X-ray CT system, traceable to primary standards. RTI Group provides the whole measuring solution, including the regulation-sized CT Dose Index Phantom (head & body phantom), RTI CT Ion Chamber and Ocean Next software for automated, streamlined testing. The RTI CT Ion Chamber can be connected through RTI meters such as Mako and Piranha, for wireless display of measurement parameters to the display device.

Patented solid-state technology

The patented RTI CT Dose Profiler streamlines routine performance testing to save both time and the X-ray tube, as CTDIw and DLP can be calculated from a single, helical scan, rather than 5 axial scans typically performed with an Ion Chamber. As the RTI CT Dose Profiler is built with solid-state technology, no pressurized chambers are required, negating the usual need to compensate for temperature & pressure.

Most accurate measurements

The RTI Mako and Piranha multimeters can be used to measure kV on the X-ray CT system, with Mako boasting industry-leading accuracy (±1.5% uncertainty). The meters can measure kV either on the couch, or placed at the bottom of the gantry, or at a mid-beam point using the holders & stand provided. With industry leading calibration cycles & warrant, the RTI solution is a choice in dosimetry expertise and long-term value.
